Requirements
Major Functions of the Position
* In conjunction with Mineral Processing personnel, ensure tonnes and grade targets are met.
* Develop mine production operating and capital cost budgets.
* Monitor production results on a daily basis and prepare weekly cost variance reports.
* Establish production targets and review with Manager – Mining, Open Pits on a weekly basis.
* Maintain effective working relationships with Open Pit Contractors and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.
* Ensure strategic development of available waste dump rehabilitation.
* Develop a sense of continuous improvement and ensure appropriate training programs are in place to meet safety and production requirements.
* Maintain knowledge of current statutory requirements and ensure compliance at all times.
* Recommend appropriate mobile and fixed plant equipment and be involved in the selection thereof.
* Review mining methods and implement optimisation programs where appropriate.
* Conduct six monthly performance appraisals and ensure employee relations issues are handled in a timely and effective manner.
